DIY Wreath: Creating Hygge + Merriment with Hannah Betts of Lives Styled

Please welcome back friend, stylist and photographer, Hannah Betts of Lives Styled. Today she’s sharing her minimalist love for holiday decorating. Inspired by Hannah’s minimalist wreath designs she posted to the Lives Styled Instagram last week, I’m having friends over tonight to create some of our own to cozy up our spaces. Check out Hannah’s how-to & let us know how yours turn out by posting pics and tagging #DIYlivesstyled and #hyggejournal with your own version of this minimalist wreath! W O R D S and photos by Hannah Betts I love the tradition of the holidays, but when it comes to decorating, I am drawn toward more of a minimalist look. UPDATE: WHAT + HOW to DONATE to Standing Rock NOW

U P D A T E If you’re heading to Standing Rock, stay updated on routes in, around and out. Earlier today, the Oceti Sakowin Camp published alternative routes to reach them through South Dakota. In a post by Reuters at 5:47 pm EST this evening, they reported that North Dakota officials will be acting more “passively” in “allowing” protestors to continue through at least a bit longer, but not for long- if they think people are heading to the camp, they may be faced with a $1000 fine. You can stay updated on routes via the Oceti Sakowin Camp FB page. The beautiful headline artwork by Alexa-Milena Pique is being auctioned off via Tribe de Mama- all proceeds generated from said auction go directly to the medics onsite. Medics need a constant supply of  goggles, bandanas, eye flushing materials and trauma supplies to get through the cold months ahead. Please read the post about a day in the life of a medic at Tribe de Mama. An excerpt by medic, Sarah Matuszak: All money raised during …

Get Tickets for Hikyoga at Kate Sessions Park This Saturday

Last February, Nicole Kazimer brought the Hikyoga experience she created to San Diego. High above the ocean at Torrey Pines new friendships were made as we meandered down to the water’s edge. This weekend, one of my dear friends and yogi, Taimi Schepis is bringing Hikyoga to San Diego’s world-famous Kate Sessions park and hiking trails. Inspired by Nicole’s complement of yoga with nature, Taimi decided San Diegans should be able to experience it on the regular too! Please welcome Taimi today as she answers your questions about the Hikyoga experience and we can’t wait to see you, your family, co-workers and friends this weekend at Kate Sessions! I’ll be there, be sure to say hi! Garden Eats: Hikyoga is awesome for ___________________? Taimi Schepis: Hikyoga is awesome for everyone because it allows you to be more present as you connect yoga, nature and clarity of mind. GE: We’ll be incorporating essential oils into our day, how can this optimize our experience? TS: One of the main points of participating in Hikyoga is to get outside and connect …

Nucifera Spreads Love To Garden Eats

We are obsessive about what we put into and onto our bods at Garden Eats- obviously you are too, I mean, you’re here at our blog after all. Basically, if a skincare product is near-edible, it’s for us. We love our friend Meredith Baird’s luxe body quench, The Balm. Her medicinal grade ingredients are the stuff all personal care products should be made from. It goes on + our hair + our lips + every inch of our skin + {potential} wrinkles + décolleté + feet + under eyes + your baby’s bum … yes, basically everywhere. I even just used it to cup my daughter to help ward off a cold. In a word, The Balm is nourishing. We want you to feel nourished- because Meredith is super sweet, we’re happy that all of our Garden Eats friends can now feel nourished with 10 % off Nucifera. Before you checkout, enter in all caps, code GARDENEATS. If you’ve already gotten your hands on Nuci, tell us how your bod is loving it! xo
