Kangaroo Paw for Color in Your Drought Ready So Cal Garden

Kangaroo Paw is a fuzzy flowering plant that can grow over 5 feet tall. Best of all, it’s drought tolerant. For some color and hummingbirds that won’t have you feeling bad about your water usage, purchase some baby plants now and watch them grow until they surprise you by flowering.

This year mine decided to flower the entire year!

1. Plant kangaroo paw in a sunny place in the So Cal coastal garden.

2. Fertilize lightly and keep Phosphorus on the low side.

3. After the flowering period remove old leaves as low as possible without damaging healthy green “fanning” leaves.

4. Provide these plants with moderate water and drainage!
