Celebrate Repeal Day Today!

“Lips that touch liquor shall not touch ours” read a sign in protest of repeal of the 18th amendment that originally put prohibition in place. Jeremy and I would have of course burned that sign had we seen it.

To celebrate the first legal scotch whisky to arrive in New York’s port once the ban was lifted, enjoy a stiff sip of our  classic cocktail, Repeal Day. Enjoy!

Repeal Day
yields 1 cocktail

What You’ll Need:

1 oz Dewar’s Scotch whisky
1/2 oz Aperol
1/2 oz freshly squeezed blood orange (or whatever orange is in season)
1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon
1 lemon twist for garnish

Putting It All Together:

In a bar tin, combine Scotch whisky, Aperol and juices with 20 pieces of ice. Shake thoroughly and strain into coupe or the like. Garnish with a twist.
